Micromanipulation Pipettes in Precision Laboratory Work

Micromanipulation pipettes (MMP) are delicate glass instruments used in precision laboratory applications such as cell manipulation, microinjection and other research procedures. Their slender geometry, with a shaft diameter of around 1 mm, makes safe storage and handling essential to prevent damage.

THE ENGINEERING CHALLENGE

Designing a Case for a Fragile 1 mm Glass Pipette

The case needed to securely hold a very thin and fragile glass pipette while allowing easy insertion and removal without breakage. The design had to balance protection, ease of use and a compact form factor for practical laboratory use.

Custom Internal Holder and Protective Enclosure

We developed a custom plastic case with an internal retention mechanism that guides and holds the pipette in position. The design allows the pipette to be easily inserted and retracted without applying excessive lateral force, while providing a protective outer enclosure for safe storage and transport.
